Techno Blueprint wrap up
Posted on Sunday, August 12 @ 23:29:25 EDT by
music For those of you that are interested but didn't go on Saturday night, my gig went swimmingly !  No technical problems or sound issues from my end, all my gear worked flawlessly. In fact I would go as far to say that I had most, if not all, of the crowd that was there at the time dancing, not bad for 11:30pm set. That leads me to my next point, the attendance. Lets just say that the numbers where a little lower than the promoters expected. I would guess that at its peak there may have be 150 people in the room, and they probably saw about 200 or so through the door. Sorry to say this guys, but I think cost may have been a factor in this. The venue was awesome for a gig like this, I hope it gets used again, and the promotion of the party seemed to be up to scratch with plenty of web promotion and campaigning. But it's hard to convince people that they are getting value for money from a 'pub' party when the ticket price is so high. Even in the hey-day of parties like this a typical price for a party of this type was around $15, the $30 price tag was reserved for warehouse parties, big outdoor festivals went even higher (and these days the price of big multi day festivals is astronomical!). Even so, it was still a top night, I had a blast. I even got a chance to get down to a few old classics that I had not heard for years. While on the subject of old skool, I got a chance to hear E-Tek for the first time, most of the time these guys are hard trance producers from Sydney but this time they slammed out a mashie/remix set of old skool tracks that went down a treat with the crowd. But you know as good as it was, I still think that it was nothing a good DJ couldn't have done. Jump across to their myspace site and have a listen to some of their hand made trance, I'm sure you will be very satisfied!
