Just
a follow up on the story
about Synthrepair. Stephen Jones

they sound great, as it is I only had to replace one faulty chip but
I ordered six waiting for the day when more of them break... can't
wait.... ! I working on a track as I write this that uses the Juno.....

Why does stuff break...?
My
JUNO-106 is a little bit broken....
(Juno-106's keyboards suffer from this annoying problem where the
VCA/VCF output chips just decide to blow up!) Normally I
would go to Phase
Engineering to get it fixed up
but I have since found that have moved to the Blue Mountains, which is
not exactly convenient, so I have just contacted this
bloke who is located in Sydney.
I never realised that there are in fact third
party chips available which
sound eactly the same and last much longer, really, it should have been
apparent to me that someone would make such chips because the original
Roland one stink..... I'll let you know how it works out,
because I know you are dying to hear !

Rare Synth
OK I'm sick of this, I need to post. This place has gone neglected for too
long. Expect more articles and track releases in the coming weeks. First off
here is a very rare synth to wet you appetite. I got this by way of
MatrixSynth.

Spring Cleaning
I've gone through and had a bit of a clean out of some of my old computer
equipment. Some of it I will be putting onto ebay and other stuff I will just
chuck out. I'm thinking of building a MidiSID
Box from my old Commodore 64, since it does not work any more anyway. It's
actually be a little nostalgic, remembering the good old days when computers
where innocent little toys and really only used by gamers and enthusiast, a far
cry from today. So far
I have these items on ebay, A
Printer and an
Amiga SCSI card, more to come.

Finally a new toy to play with
I have some big news! I bought some new hardware.... yes oh yes,
I had been eying off a Scope Project
card for about 2 years, but just could not justify the price tag, that
was until I started to search on eBay. Just by chance I was looking at
eBay on Thursday and I decided to search for 'creamware' and sure
enough there was a Pulsar
II just sitting there with no bids and about 1 day to go. I won it
on Friday, and drove down to Helensburg to pick it up on Saturday, then
installed it on Saturday afternoon. While I was there I made a few
other changes to my PC including a new 3.4ghz Pescott, which I have
successfully overclocked to 4.08ghz !! Needless to say, my system now
rocks! I was working on some music over the rest of the weekend
and just coming to grips with the raw power that I now have at my
fingertips. I will post some music I have written using it and a mini
review soon, but for now I will leave you to drool over these photos I
took while I was installing it. (which are also in the photo album
called toys)
